The same rough numbers our engineers use when they first look at a project. Treat the results as estimates — we check them against your grid data before quoting.
Charging time calculator
Estimate = energy added ÷ (lower of charger and vehicle peak power × 0.8). Real sessions depend on battery temperature and the vehicle's charging curve, and slow down sharply above 80 %.

Selection guide
Highway and corridor stops need high power per bay. A 180–360 kW cabinet with two guns shares power between bays as cars arrive.
Retail parking, restaurants and urban hubs: 120–180 kW compact cabinets, or 40–60 kW wall units where grid capacity is tight.
Workplaces, hotels and depots: dual-port AC chargers cover most bays; add a DC unit for vehicles that must leave quickly.
Roadside assistance, fleet yards without fixed bays and temporary events: a wheeled DC unit from 20 to 80 kW, or a portable AC charger that plugs into any suitable socket.
Site types
Starting points, not fixed packages. Dwell time and grid capacity decide the final mix. All solutions →
Short stops where drivers expect to leave within half an hour. Power per bay matters more than bay count.
→ 180–360 kW DC, two guns per cabinet
Vans, taxis and buses that return to base. Most energy goes in overnight; a few vehicles need a fast top-up between shifts.
→ AC for most bays + 60–120 kW DC buffer
Shopping centres, restaurants and urban hubs where visitors stay 30 to 90 minutes.
→ 120–180 kW compact DC or 40–60 kW DC wallbox
Cars parked for a working day or overnight. Many bays at moderate power beat a few fast chargers.
→ 2 × 7.4–22 kW dual-port AC
Breakdown assistance, yards without fixed bays, events and temporary sites where the charger goes to the vehicle.
→ 20–80 kW mobile DC on wheels
Why EVCSTAR
Input current per phase, output voltage range and protection data are published for every model, so your electrical engineer can size the connection before asking us.
All chargers speak OCPP 1.6J and OCPP 2.0.1 over Ethernet, with 4G and Wi-Fi options — they join the CSMS you already use.
Rated to +55 °C ambient, with IP54 / IK10 DC cabinets and IP55 / IK10 commercial AC units for exposed car parks and forecourts.
CCS2 and Type 2 for Europe; 480 V CCS1 and NACS for North America on the flagship DC series. One supplier for both markets.
You send bay count, grid capacity, market and how long vehicles stay. We ask what is missing.
We propose the power mix, connector set, payment and OCPP options, with spec sheets for each unit.
Units are built to the agreed configuration, with OEM branding and housing colour if ordered.
12-month warranty. Installation documents go to your installer; our engineers support commissioning and back-end connection remotely.
FAQ
Yes. DC chargers are built with CCS2 (optionally CCS2 + CHAdeMO) for Europe. The UC flagship series also has a 480 V North American build with CCS1, NACS or CHAdeMO connectors.
Every charger supports OCPP 1.6J and OCPP 2.0.1. DC units connect over Ethernet as standard, with integrated 4G and Wi-Fi as options.
The UC and HC cabinets split their total output between the two connectors automatically. One car can take the full output, or two cars share it as their batteries demand.
DC chargers support RFID and QR-code start as standard, with a POS card terminal as an option. Commercial AC chargers offer RFID, app QR-code payment and an optional Payter card terminal.
Yes. OEM branding and ODM changes (housing colour, screen content, connector and communication options) are available for partner orders.
Every charger has a 12-month warranty from delivery. Faults are diagnosed remotely, replacement parts are free within the warranty, and technical support continues for the life of the charger.
Number of bays, grid connection size, target market and timeline are enough to start. We reply with a recommended configuration and spec sheets.
